Avapa Energy is rooted in the collaboration of two professionals over more than 10 years
In 2008 Alberto starts Avapa Sas, a renewable energy advisory company, and enters into the share capital of a larger investment fund with main focus on renewable energies development, and structuring of impact investments, establishing partnerships with a London-based infrastructure fund with 10 billion USD under management (500 million in renewables), and a Swiss-based investment firm with 2+ billion USD under management.
Together, Gabriele and Alberto have assisted the funds in the development, ownership and operation of a feed-in-tariff (FIT) based 60 MWp solar PV portfolio in Italy, 45 MWp in Japan (from 2013), a pipeline of 150 MW projects in Taiwan (from 2016), as well as developing simulation and control technologies for an energy storage system (ESS) for the use of batteries of various technologies in conjunction with renewable energy generators, with a first deployment of the technology planned for various sites in the southern part of Germany.
Alberto Dalla Rosa
Founder and Principal
Alberto Dalla Rosa has worked 11 years in Tokyo, Japan, advising the 16 GW+ utility conglomerate J-Powers in the deregulated electricity generation sectors worldwide, reaching today’s equity portfolio of 3,000 MW+ in the USA and South East Asia. His activities in Italy includes two years as VP of International Development in Enelpower (ENEL) and ten years as CEO of a privately held investment house for solar PV investments, wth the financial support of London-based investment fund.
He holds a MSc in Mechanical Engineering from UniBO and an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, Boston.
Gabriele Zini
Founder and Principal
Gabriele Zini has worked for multinational companies (i.e. Tetra Pak, Renault, Italcementi), the Swiss Federal Polytechnic in Zurich (ETH), the French Nuclear and Renewable Energy Commission (CEA), and as consultant for renewable energy investment funds. A published author with several peer-reviewed papers and books published by Springer Verlag and McGraw-Hill, Gabriele holds an MSc in Electronic Engineering from the Alma Mater UniBo (graduation thesis awarded top prize by the Italian National Research Council - CNR), a PhD in Advanced Materials from UniMoRE, and an MBA from SDA Bocconi, Milan.
